January 29, 2008 ROSLYN H.S. STUDENTS RAISE A RECORD-BREAKING $25,000.00 for The SASS Foundation. On January 12th, the Roslyn H.S. hosted its annual Cancer Benefit Fashion Show. This year, thanks to the efforts of SASS Foundation Volunteer President, Joan Ambrosino, the students decided to donate the money to the SASS Foundation. The juniors and seniors that participated in this show, aided by their faculty advisors, Ms. Jennifer Sheehan and Mr. Alejandro Elena, worked tiressly to raise the funds through journal ads, silent auction, and sales of tickets, tee shirts and guitar string bracelets. The $25,000.00 that Roslyn H.S. Activity Club raised was a record breaking amount. Kudos to all those wonderful H.S. students that participated and gave of themselves and certainly have made in a difference in our fight to eradicate cancer!
